Kaori Shiina was born in Japan. After earning a degree in Art and Literature from the University of SEIJO, she got her diploma from Tokyo’s Gakuin institute of design. She has been working with Studio De Pas D’Urbino Lomazzi since 1989. She is mainly involved in industrial design and settings and furniture design. She has filmed some products for the companies Zerodisegno, Bellato and Ligne-Roset. Worth mentioning among her furniture works is the restoration of her home, which was published in many magazines, among which “Abitare”. In 2005, Shiina opened her own studio. At the "Salone del Mobile" 2006 in Milan she presented her first projects for Bonaldo and Tonelli.
